faye wakes up, not knowing who she is - all she has is a first name, and a fractured memory, and a whole fucking pile of debt to pay. she falls in love with the first man she meets... not knowing that he's just looking to offload his debt onto her in the name of cleaning his own slate. she learns, too late, what it means to be alive in the new world of space ships and cowboys, and finds herself on the run.soon it doesn't matter who she used to be. this new world is cold and uncaring, and so, she learns to adapt, to survive. she hustles cards and finds herself spiralling further and further into debt... doing all she can to outrun her problems, and trying to enjoy her life along the way. is it working? most certainly not, finding that whatever gains she tends to make, she'll piss it away on a game of cards or a haplessly made bet. faye's just looking to strike rich, quick, with as little work as possible poured into it, which may or may not be the reason why she tends to find herself in hot water more often than not.and along the way she picks up a few friends, but she finds it hard to trust the way that she thinks she used to. maybe there's more attachment to the past than she gives herself credit for, but what's the point of looking back, when your future is so uncertain, and requires all of your effort? denial makes for a better bedfellow, even as she finds that being on the bebop changes her in ways that she doesn't anticipate. two stupid men, an annoying child, and a terrible dog... who would think that it was a recipe made for found family?a video tape changes it all, she finds herself on an adventure to carve up the girl she used to be. cheerleader, daughter... in possession of all the things she lacks, and craves, now. money, friendship, family, and what did it get her? nightmares about a crash in space, losing her mother, her father. and the present is no safer, she wonders, who's next, amongst their motley crew. faye's hardly sure she wants to find out; and hardly knows what to do with herself anymore.( covers a few fandoms, depending on what we're plotting and working from )singaporian heiress verse
what if faye never went up within that ship?this verse reimagines faye as continuing her life on earth living within the warmth of her family, and the privilege that came along with it.
